The Doll Market |
The Doll Market has been in business since 1990; but my love for doll making goes back to 1980, when my love for doll making first began. Since then, my passion has grown through many avenues of doll making; cloth dolls, soft sculpture and now porcelain and original dolls.
I believe dolls represent the inner child character of all of us. Thus, dolls should be available representing many nationalities and cultures.
We have had two retail locations since 1990. Our first location, in the Historic City Market in downtown Indianapolis, IN. Our second shop was located in the Historic Butler Tarkington area of Indianapolis. We are now an internet based business traveling throughout the year participating in doll and trade shows.
My dolls are describes as "interpretations of modern reproductions". Each is completely handmade - from the pouring of the porcelain to the intricately detailed painted faces, woven wigs, and custom designed costumes. Dolls I create are multi-cultural featuring children of African American, Native American, European, African, Hispanic and Asian descent. People purchase dolls because they represent something or someone in their life. That's why I feel it's important that there be black dolls, white dolls and dolls from every culture.
